Fade is a meditation, almost a lullaby, for my yet-to-be born daughter Eleanor, written in the spring of 2003, just a few months before her birth.

The piece wants to sing, but always hesitates and holds back, similar to the emotions regarding an adoption that could collapse at any moment…
